Jermaine

Every so often I think about Jermaine.

Jermaine and I were about as close to Romy and Michelle as 2 big ass black men could be. We could go out and have tonnes of fun every time we decided that tonnes of fun were what we wanted.

Similar, in the fact that we were both Southern (me: Texas/GA. him: NC/TX). Southern geigh dudes are different from our northern brethren as we aren’t delusional. Yes, NYC homos are delusional.

They don't talk to strangers. They don't dance. They go out of their way to be rude to strangers (who dance especially). And the clincher? They float through life with a misplaced sense of entitlement based on the fact that they live in NYC.

Neat.

Jermaine and I would laugh about the New York geigh seen all the time. We would go out and dance all the time. He even got me to realize that putting on some muscle wouldn't take away from the person that I am, but help me become the person that I'm supposed to be.

Jermaine is my HEro.

Here are some pics of Jermaine from earlier this year.

He is good-looking Dexy. Would you mind sharing why you refer to him in past tense?

Because he moved to Los Angeles and unfortunatly, the friendship didnt survive.

But i will always have a special place in my heart for Jermaine. :)

Well you can reach Jermain by airplane, Trailway, cross the damn dessert like an Arab man, I don't car how you get there; just get there! Go west to personally reclaim that brothahood. Clearly after that touching ode, he's heavy on your mind. Damn any kind of ego/s that may be at play, go see about your boy Bruh! Uh...then after the happy reunion, why don't both of you fine brothas make your way back down south to come see all about me.

~:) Medussssa baby!

(damn you're Dexy!)

Awww...Don't you hate it when you get along with someone and it doesn't even have to be sexual and one day they just decide to up and move halfway across the globe?Like...Come on now. Are you still in touch at all, Dex?

Dex said...

No. We are not in touch. Im sure Jermaine is doing well. If one day I win the Lottery, or hit the jackpot in some other way, I'll make sure to give him his "Gayle Cut" and we'll go dancing some more.

But right now, he's doing his thing in LA. I'm doing my thing in NYC.

I wish him the best tho.

OH NO; say it isn't so. This most unfortunate split is all over coins. That is soo sad if that be the case, as I truly am much at odds with what money does to us all.

aside: If beautiful people deserve to be seen, then ugly people deserve to be stoned....and stoned I am, right out of my forever hatin' beautiful mind.

No?...Ugh...Too bad! At least the friendship ended in good terms from the good things we hear from you.
I "lost" my bestest childhood friend but it was under different circumstances because I came out to her and she cussed my ass out to hell and then she lost her mother who happened to be a family friend and I couldn't even send my condolences as a result. To this day I miss her even though I know our friendship will never recover from it. I don't even know what we'll say to each other when I go back home.
Just sad!!

I am so sorry to hear about your split! It happens to the best of us. I am in the worst situation, I am not talking to my best buddy who happens to live right next door to me.I miss him so much and it pains me everytime i see him with others. I am now learning to let go and move on. Just pray that someday you guys will reunite. It better be soon or you will drift apart for eternity.

I know the feeling of "losing" a friend. It happened to me, my best and damn near only friend I trusted for ten years, we split. And like you I just can't seem to get right with her. She did the "noble" thing and reached out to me but my heart is so hurt and I have som much resentment that it startles me. I don't want to be angry anymore but I don't really want to be friends either. I do however, wish her nothing but love.

The images on the other hand, I love. I really like your photojournalistic style. My site pays photogs, very little but we pay, let me know if you might be interested.

As usual showing you made love!

Interesting...

and about the NYC boys. Is that true for all of us? Can't be... maybe. What percent? Its hard man! You can't help but get a bit jaded. I wish I had a stereo type for y'all Texans but I never been there. I guess thats part of the problem!

I absolutely love this opening picture! The expression on your friend Jermaine's face is like "why do I even know you?!" I love photos like this that make me wonder what was going on the 2 minutes before the shot was taken.

Why are ya'll gay??? I'm tired of seeing gay black men! UGH! Sorry, that may sound like hatred, but honestly, men were not meant to do that!

Anonymous.. u so silllleeeeey.

Actually, homosexuality is naturaly and examples of it can be found all throuought nature.

It's a natrual form of population control.

Growing up in Texas, I'd heard from farmers and even seen myself how bulls and mares can often be GAY. It’s disappointing if you are trying to breed the animals.

Also, there’s an exhibit right now in Oslo about gay animals in nature.

But I understand how you might not be aware of it as you seem to not be too intelligent or informed an individual. You aren’t even courageous enough to identify yourself....

Click the link, Anonymous, learn something.

Also... Nature = God.

DOugla: Its not a broad generalization. Compared to groups around the world and These United States, NYC Gay dudes are stiff and overly concerned about what people think abotu there every move... almost as though they are famous with something to loose.

Strange.

@ A.Tyrell

The reason J. is lookin at me like that is because of the headwrap. It was a point of contention. $300 Cashmere Scarf from Banana Rep. ... I hated it, and he loved it. So me wrapping around my head wasnt too kosher with him.

Aww Dex..what a beautiful fella!

I know how you feel Dexy. I recently lost a friend. Someone who was near and dear to me and now we no longer speak. It gets much deeper than I am letting on in this post. One day I may call you and cry on your shoulder about it. *sigh*
