Jose Duran Spring 2008 Fashion Show

I Love Jose!

I remember the first time I met him. We were at this club that I used to work at called Lotus. He was always a cool person to talk to (even with that kwazy DOminican Accent *wink*) and a fun person to party with.

When he first asked me to shoot his Fall 2007 Fashion show, I was like "Iight, but I dont do runway, I'm more of a 'behind the scenes' type".

I forgot what he said, but it was along the lines of "whatever u want to do"

My kind of words :)

This year, his steadily growing empire showed in this artists loft space on the west side of Manhattan. It was AWESOME.

He had car parts on his models... glowing lights... crazy designs and of course..... His wonderful energy and creative spirit.

What I loved most about this seasons show (Besides getting to chill with cycle 9 ANTM winner
Salisha) was that killer black make up. It was a bold choice to put all those models in black face, but the team from MAKEUP FOREVER did an excellent job of realizing Mr. Durans' vision. For all my revolutionaries out there.... the black makeup and crystal glitter on the models made them look more like the night sky and less like they should have been steppin and fetchin it *wink* We love u Jose and keep innovating!!!

I've resorted to doing fashion shots. :)

Naw, Fashion is cool, but a little -- uhm -- not my style. I prefer the energy and excitement and flexibility of event/documentary work.
But fvk it.. People pay, so like a good whore, there I lay :) I used to do them often... mostly pick up shots for my actor/ model friends who needed somethin new for their portfolio, but didnt have the skrilla to hook them selves up with a studio photog (me no do the studio... yet).

Below is the first fashion shoot I've done in -- how many years? Its of my hommie, Sir Ben Marx... the Model Musician! He's Cool. His music is cool, and most of all.... he pays on time!!!!! *laffin*

Check out my foray in to the world of fashion. Uhm... these shots was taken on the street near my house. Yes.. that's right. I was workin on the street to get that dough.
Lucky for me, I'm my own pimp. (keep it pimpin, Pimpin --- THe Hommie, Rah)
