You Gotta Love Africa

Wassup Homies! This past week, Dex was battling a funky tooth, the flu, and the failing American healthcare system. Because of these things, I'm a little too downtrodden to be the visual orgasm (or is it more like a kiss?) that you are used to. But have no fear, Jacob is here! Jacob is my homie is Gaborne, Botswana. He was kind enough to send me some pics of him Lounging with his crew. check him and them out and soak in some of that good "African-ness".

Hi boo...sorry bout the tooth. Don't you hate teeth, no matter how well you take care of them, those bitches do what they want....

Oh I love these pics!! My stepsisters are African and I have friends in Africa too, you would think my ass would've been there by now. I am waiting for my babygirl to leave for college before I take that trip...(2 years!!)

Nice pics, they look like they are having a DAMN good time....

Do your Botswana friends know about your SEVERE miseducation on African culture and lifestyle? How hypocritical.
And to think I try to defend black americans when I go back to Ghana. I feel deep regret for doing so after today. Deep. Regret.

blk Athena.. u are both Self Righteous and mistaken.

I am thouroughly educated in all things African. I had a pan african/Afrocentric upbringing.

YOu sound like you might be taking a joke or even a flipped comment and getting a little extra with it.

I hope the that while traveling back to Ghana, you develope a sense of humor. It's essential to dealing with Black americans. YOu could almost say its cultural.

And while you are at it, you dont have to defend black americans to your (oh wait, they dont have a high opinion of us "mixed bloods") bredren in W.Africa.

We will all live and hopefully learn.

BlkAthena, what did Dexter exactly say to piss you off this much?Jeez!

And Dex, I know that it's a popular belief here in North America but most Africans don't see Afro-Americans in that light. I remember some of the West Indians that I went to school with in Toronto used to say the same thing but I always told them the truth. Those who would say such things are just bitter and filled with self-hatred.
Cheers!!

May I be so ignorant as to ask what language do the Botswanians speak, thanks

Shabaka said...

To answer your question, Medusa, the country is named after its largest ethnic group, the Tswana people. And they speak a bantou language called SETSWANA.
Hope this helps.

Oh well thanks shabaka, that was very sweet of you to answer!

Shabaka said...

Ur welcome, hon...My 1st language is a bantou language as well so I felt flattered somehow that you'd want to know about my(our) people.
Hugs!!
